IU Convention 2026

IU (International Union) Convention is where the whole country of union workers, just like you and I, gather in one location on a bi-annual rotation. That is 1.4 million Union members, e-board members, and staff all gathered together, fighting together and wanting something better than what we had yesterday. From Puerto Rico all the way to Alaska.

Here we have workshops, sessions, voting and more. During session is the only time that the body (you and I) have majority of the power. We will vote on resolutions...what is a resolution you say?? Resolutions are things that we say yeah, I don't like that either and debate about until it comes to a vote. Just to clarify your union dues do NOT go towards anything that is a resolution or an amendment. Resolutions are items that change the IU Constitution but doesn't overall effect how our local operates because we are all separate but together under the umbrella that is IU.

Anything that was not worker's union related, our Local voted against. Our UL (Union Local) believes that politics should stick with the People Committee and stay out of our everyday working lives. Sounds easy until you remember negotiations and lobby Days around the corner.
